John L. Coble Elementary School, nestled in the heart of the beautiful North Georgia region, is seeking a passionate and dedicated 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher to join our growing school community. This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape young minds in a supportive environment that blends academic excellence with spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spiritual Discipleship: Guide and mentor students in their spiritual journey, nurturing their faith and character. Develop and lead Bible-based activities that help students grow in their relationship with God, fostering a Christ-centered community.

  • Academic Coaching: Provide rigorous academic instruction, tailored to individual needs. Help students excel in core subjects, cultivating critical thinking and academic growth through innovative and engaging methods.
  • Fostering Culture of Goodness, Perseverance, and Resilience: Create a classroom culture that emphasizes the importance of kindness, perseverance, and resilience. Inspire students to face challenges with a positive attitude and develop the emotional tools necessary to overcome adversity.
  • Student Development: Engage with students in a developmentally appropriate manner, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth. Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure the holistic development of each child.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a supportive team of educators and staff, contributing to a positive school culture and continuing to enhance the school’s mission.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A passionate, compassionate educator committed to nurturing both the academic and spiritual development of students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Expertise in Language Arts instruction, with the ability to teach reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking skills in an engaging and effective manner.
  • Experience in teaching or coaching in middle school education is preferred, but not required.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • A desire to grow professionally and contribute to the school's ongoing success.
  • Understanding and alignment with Adventist principles and values.

Required Experience

Minimum: B.S. degree and current NAD Elementary certification. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy. Georgia-Cumberland Conference offers a choice of 10 or 12 month remuneration. Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be able to provide evidence of that right if employed.
