Description

ASPIRE (Adventist School Preparing, Instilling, and Redeeming for Eternity) Academy is a technology-mediated elementary and secondary school operated by the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. ASPIRE utilizes a technology-mediated educational approach that is interactive, based on live instruction, and provides instant feedback and interaction between classmates and teachers. ASPIRE currently serves grades 1–12 with 8 full-time teachers. For the 2025–2026 school year, ASPIRE is seeking to fill a full-time 7th/8th grade teaching position.

 

Successful candidates will exhibit a unique skill set that enables them to deliver lessons in a live online classroom. Candidates should be able to create a safe, nurturing environment that is sensitive to students' individual learning styles and demonstrate an understanding of the environmental factors that influence student progress—specifically within the online learning environment. 

 

Successful candidates will encourage classroom participation to promote learning, establish strong relationships with students to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, grade homework, projects, and quizzes in a timely manner, monitor and report students’ online behavior and learning habits, report recurrent technical difficulties to the IT department, attend staff meetings, and fully embrace the close-knit team environment as a faculty member of ASPIRE Academy.

 

Finally, a successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the unique mission of Seventh-day Adventist education. The candidate should display a love for teaching, the ability to relate positively to students and parents, a collaborative spirit as a team member, and excitement for the unique experience of leading a synchronous online learning environment that is both engaging and academically rigorous.

Required Experience
  • BS or BA degree in education

     
  • Current NAD Certification

     
  • Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale

     
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States and provide evidence of that right if employed

     

Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing and believe in the principles of Adventist Education as outlined in the book Education
