Discoveryland Child Development Center is looking for a mission-minded, energetic, dedicated Director. Discoveryland is housed in the Mt. Tabor SDA church located in a beautiful urban neighborhood. Discoveryland has served its community for 36 years and has established a stellar reputation serving families of children ages 3 months through 8 years.

The Director will be working for and with a supportive Board and a caring church family under the umbrella of the Oregon Conference Education Department. The Directorship is a salaried position with typical Conference benefits.

Job duties include:

Sharing the Love of Jesus with children, staff, parents, and others who may enter the building

Maintaining NAD Accreditation

Meeting Oregon State Requirements

Maintaining a strong Curriculum using observation and assessment as a guide

Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for care and learning

Engaging with staff, parents, Board, constituency, and community in a positive and informative manner

A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Experience as a Director, supervisor, or other school leader

Thorough understanding of Child Development and developmentally appropriate care and learning for infants through 8-year-olds

Demonstrated ability to use good, sound judgement

Established strong, loving leadership

Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
