Livingstone Adventist Academy (LAA) is seeking candidates for the 2025-26 school year to serve as our 3rd & 4th grade teacher. 

LAA serves a diverse population and welcomes students of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. LAA is located in Salem, the capitol of Oregon, just south of Portland, and is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. We are a growing PK/K-12 grade school currently with 145 students and 12 teachers. Our teachers have a passion for collaborating and making learning experiences fun for children. We are looking for a Jesus-loving, student-centered, growth-minded educator who enjoys collaborating with other teachers, applying best practices, and developing an inspiring learning environment. 

Located in the gorgeous Willamette Valley, LAA is within easy driving distance to dense old-growth forest hiking trails, stunning waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and more! Our beautiful new campus is less than 10 years old and includes a spacious gymnasium, sports field, and playgrounds. Our modern classrooms offer state of the art giant touch screen smart TVs, in room bathrooms, and iPads or Chromebooks for each student. 

Responsibilities will be typical of a teacher in an Adventist school and include:

• Collaborating with grade-level team for planning and meeting the needs of students
• Planning and implementing engaging lessons and units of study utilizing SBL and a student-centered approach
• Developing rapport with students, families, and colleagues, communicating in person, email, or print
• Tracking, monitoring, and communicating student growth and progress using standards-referenced proficiency scales
• Implementing restorative practices for behavior issues

Qualifications:

• SDA teaching credential (preferred, can be earned)
• Bachelor's Degree or higher (Elementary Ed preferred)
• Experience teaching 3rd/4th grades (preferred)
• Experience with Standard-based Learning (preferred)
