Description: Peninsula Adventist School (PAS) is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and highly motivated teaching principal for grades 5-8.  We are a K-8 school with a supportive community. PAS is located in the beautiful community of Seaside, CA, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. The Monterey Bay is just a few minutes away, San Francisco is two hours north, and two hours south is the quaint town of San Luis Obispo. This puts the beach, ocean, hiking, exploring the city, and other activities close to the school. There is also housing on the school property.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record for providing creative hands-on instruction in a multi-grade environment and including practical learning skills as a part of the curriculum, integrating the Bible and “Spirit of Prophecy” in the curriculum, supporting Physical Education and exercise as part of the daily routine, utilize community service as both training for students and a support for the local community.  We are looking for a person to meet the needs of parents and students by keeping both groups up-to-date on school activities and regularly post grades and updates for online access. The school has Outdoor Education woven into of curriculum.

Required Experience

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 

  1. Is a United States Citizen or has a permanent resident card or a valid working visa with at least two (2) years remaining on it. In addition to the these two , the following qualifications are desired

2) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with an Elementary Education endorsement  or BA Degree and willing to  complete requirements for certification as teacher and principal. 

3) loves children

3) a team player;

 4) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment;  

5) have a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ;  

6) knowledgeable in elementary curriculum;  

7) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication;  

8) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus;  

9) most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.

The salary range for this position is $65,774-$82,844. based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment.
