Palisades Christian Learning Center (PCLC) is seeking part-time (approx. 24-28 hours a week) assistant teachers for Preschool (age 2 ½-4) and/or Pre-K (age 4-5). PCLC is located on the campus of Palisades Christian Academy, a K-10 Seventh-day Adventist school in Spokane, Washington. PCLC offers a strong, creative curriculum and is pursuing Early Achievers accreditation. PCLC has a full-time director, and each classroom is staffed by a lead teacher and assistant teacher. Assistant teachers are responsible for helping the lead teacher implement lesson plans, preparing materials, supervising children during activities and transitions and maintaining a safe learning environment, and providing other assistance as needed.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate has experience working with younger learners. They are patient and kind. They have effective classroom management that is age-appropriate and aligns with “Love and Logic” principles. They should be mission-minded, committed to PCLC's vision, and an excellent team-player. 

Candidates must uphold SDA values. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have or obtain the legal right to live and work in the United States. They must also have or be able to complete Washington State STARS certification and food handler's certification, have a current TB test, current CPR/First Aid certification, and a portable background check before starting employment.
