Portland Adventist Elementary School (PAES) is seeking candidates for a PE Teacher/Athletic Director position for the 2025-26 school year. Located right outside of Portland, we have 300 students and 17 teachers. Our beautiful campus includes a spacious gymnasium, multiple sports fields, and three playgrounds.  PAES serves a diverse population and welcomes students of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. 

We are looking for a positive, energetic teacher who can plan and instruct physical education classes for students in grades K-8. 

In addition to teaching PE classes, the Athletic Director will be responsible for: 

• Maintaining the gym facilities and equipment
• Utilize school funds to maintain or purchase new PE equipment 
• Recruit and organize volunteer coaches for various sports seasons
• Communicating with parents about sign-ups and various sports seasons
• Coaching or refereeing when necessary
• Collaborating with other athletic directors to write up seasonal schedules
• Coordinate transportation for middle school teams to compete at various other schools
• Work with churches or other organizations to organize open gyms or sports camps throughout the year

Qualifications:

- SDA teaching credential (preferred, can be earned)

- Bachelor's Degree or higher (Physical Education or sports-related preferred)

- Experience teaching athletics, PE, or coaching (preferred)

- Desire to nurture and develop student athletes
