Portland Adventist Elementary School (PAES) is seeking candidates for a Music Teacher position for the 2025-26 school year. Located right outside of Portland, we have 300 students and 17 teachers. Our beautiful campus includes a spacious music room, a large music library, multiple practice rooms, a guitar studio, and a spacious gymnasium for concerts.  PAES serves a diverse population and welcomes students of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. 

We are looking for a positive, energetic teacher who can provide music instruction for students in grades K-8. 

In addition to teaching classroom music, the music teacher will be expected to: 

• Maintain music equipment
• Utilize school funds to repair or purchase new music equipment 
• Lead ensembles (Handbells, choirs, and bands)
• Select an accompanist, if needed
• Maintain music library
• Select and purchase new music
• Collaborate with other music faculty on campus
• Schedule student performances at local SDA churches
• Organize and lead two school-wide concerts (Christmas and Spring)
• Participate in Oregon Conference music festivals

Qualifications:

- SDA teaching credential (preferred, can be earned)

- Bachelor's Degree or higher (Music Education or music-related field)

- Experience teaching classroom music

- Experience directing musical ensembles

- Desire to nurture and develop student musicians
