Indigo Christian Jr. Academy is a kindergarten through eighth-grade elementary school located in beautiful Daytona Beach on the east coast of Florida. Four classroom teachers have been providing instruction to an enrollment of about 70 students, but the school is growing rapidly and expanding to five classroom teachers for the upcoming school year. ICJA is located on 10 beautiful acres with the Daytona Beach SDA church, which is a very supportive church family. ICJA has an opening for a dedicated, caring, dynamic teacher for either kindergarten or grades 1-2, depending on enrollment needs and the strengths of the applicants. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative spirit and a passion for children and educational excellence.

Required Experience

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Three years of successful classroom experience is preferred. Must be a team player; have a service-oriented attitude; and be an effective communicator, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills. The selected applicant must have the ability to positively engage and work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students and families of diverse backgrounds, regardless of language, ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status. Possessing competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential.
