S.A.L.T. (Soul-winning And Leadership Training) aims to equip and empower students to know, share, and defend their faith. The SALT Program operates as part of the Religion Program at Union Adventist University and is run in partnership with It is Written.

The SALT Program Director position is about excellence and providing our students with the highest-quality SDA higher education experience. The role is fully dedicated to the SALT Program and is responsible for administrative oversight of all program optiosn. Faculty responsibilities are also expected.

  • Ensure the strategic development of the SALT Program (in harmony with both It IS Written and Union Adventist University's strategic plans)
  • Plan and administer the operations of the SALT Program in consultation wit the Religion Department director. This position reports to the Religion Department Director
  • Serve as the primary liaison with It Is Written
  • Supervise and support SALT staff and student workers
  • Schedule classes, speakers and training intensives for all SALT programs and intensives
  • Teach selected classes for the SALT Program and assist other teachers as needed

Required Experience
  • An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; a SDA church member in good and regular standing
  • Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • A master's degree in religion/ministry/theology is required for teaching purposes. Must have extensive experience in both personal and pubic evangelism and have demonstrated success in soul-winning and leadership training.
  • Teaching experience and prior ministry with collegiate-aged young adults is preferred
  • Strong relational and leadership skills. Be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to manage both details and people capably. Good public relations skills. Oral, written, and audio-visual communication skills. Strong recruiting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication, listening, and relationship development with colleagues and students
  • A strong desire to work as a member of a high-performing team with excellent results
  • Criminal history and background check clearance
