Rochester Adventist Elementary School is a vibrant, Christ-centered, two-teacher school operated by the Minnesota Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Serving approximately 18 students from kindergarten through eighth grade, RAES emphasizes academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth in a nurturing, small-school environment. Located in Rochester, Minnesota, our school partners with families and churches to provide holistic education rooted in Christian values.

Position Summary

RAES is seeking a passionate, organized, and spiritually committed elementary teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a multi-grade classroom setting, demonstrate strong classroom management skills, and inspire students to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. This teacher will work collaboratively with the head teacher and be actively involved in all aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct multi-grade levels (exact grade assignments determined collaboratively with the principal and team teacher).
• Plan, implement, and assess a Christ-centered, standards-based curriculum across core subjects.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports each student's learning and spiritual development.
• Integrate faith into all aspects of teaching and classroom culture.
• Collaborate with the other teacher and principal on school-wide initiatives, events, and educational planning.
• Communicate effectively with parents, church partners, and the wider school community.
• Support extracurricular activities, including field trips, service projects, and school programs.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and conference-wide events.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (or equivalent).
• Current NAD Elementary Teacher Certification or eligibility to obtain it.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Seventh-day Adventist education.
• Ability to manage and teach multiple grade levels effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Adventist church membership in good standing.

Preferred:

• Experience in multi-grade classrooms.
• Strong classroom technology integration skills.
• Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and hands-on activities.
• Bilingual or ESL endorsement (not required but beneficial).
