Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for College intercollegiate sports. The head athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.

• Develop overall sports medicine program for the college, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes
• Provide athletic training services for the college’s athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and all home competitions.
• Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
• Work in conjunction with health services/physicians/medical personnel to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs
• Assist Athletic Director in the development of the sports medicine program budget and ordering of training room supplies
• Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medical program
• Maintenance and upkeep of the athletic training room and other sites as designated 
• Continued education in sports medicine and maintaining good standing with N.A.T.A Board of Certification.

 Wage scale $24.49 to $27.92 per hour

Education: 

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the area of athletic training
• Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

 2 – 3 years professional experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), State Athletic Training Licensure, Familiarity with NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA governing rules.

• Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May need to lift items up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, and telephone and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. May be asked to travel by car or airline. Evening hours are at times required to oversee the call center activities.
