Campus Chaplain

Description

The campus chaplain shall serve the spiritual needs of the Walla Walla University campus community with the goal of encouraging the development of mature disciples of Jesus. 

The campus chaplain shall also provide leadership for the Chaplain’s Office by overseeing the Student Missions program, Campus-wide Discipleship, Community Service, the Spiritual Life Masterplan, Weekly CommUnity programming, and other spiritual programs and activities as needed. 

The campus chaplain also oversees the hiring and management of an Assistant Chaplain for Missions, as well as student employees in the Chaplain’s Office. The campus chaplain shall work in consultation and collaboration with the WWU administration, the department of Student Life, the School of Theology, and the WWU Church. The campus chaplain shall also function as a pastoral presence for WWU in the larger community.

Pay Range: $63,619.93 to $72,295.38 Annually. Teaching contracts may be available: $0-10,000 annually.

Required Experience

Education: Preference for BA in Theology (or equivalent) and M.Div. degree. 

Licenses/Certifications: Preference for licensed or ordained minister. Preference for chaplain endorsement from Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries. 

Experience/Skills: 5-10 years of experience in young adult ministry and/or campus chaplaincy preferred.
