- Serves as a life coach/academic advisor for assigned freshman
- Utilizes student success and coaching best practices to mentor assigned freshmen
- Works with high-risk student populations and provides specialized services as needed
- Assists freshmen with registration throughout the academic year
- Provides accountability coaching for academic probation population
- Works with faculty to ensure awareness of any adjustments in the curriculum that may affect course selection for new and transfer students
- Coordinates with the director of Accessibility Services and refers students to other on- and off-campus resources as needed to ensure students thrive in academics
- Teach life coaching services to upperclassmen as assigned
- Teach college seminar courses as assigned
Required Experience
- Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States
- Master's degree preferred, bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of experience in teaching college-level courses and/or adults preferred
- Holds or is able/willing to obtain life coach certification
- Demonstrates a passion for helping students succeed
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Ability to effectively initiate, implement, coordinate, and assess programs and activities
