The TRIO SSS Project Director leads and administers the Student Support Services (SSS) program. This role is responsible for overseeing TRIO SSS program services, grant compliance, staff, and student success for low-income, first-generation, and disabled students, ensuring alignment with Department of Education guidelines. This individual will be a key partner in implementing strategic initiatives focused on student retention, engagement, and graduation.

  • Direct all objectives, goals, and processes to maintain the federal and institutional regulations surrounding the TRIO SSS grant Administers project budget and the SSS Project Database Administration software
  • Chair the TRIO SSS Committee
  • Oversee hiring, training, and implementation of key professional team members employed in the SSS program
  • Works with first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities, providing specialized services as needed
  • Coordinates and collaborates with internal departments and programs. including the Ignite Program, Academic Sanctions Committee, Disability Information and Access, Career Services, The Studio for Writing and Speaking, Student Financial Services, and Student Life to effectively support participants with academic needs and incorporate high-impact educational practices.
  • Collaborates with faculty to ensure awareness of any curriculum adjustments that may impact course selection for new and transfer students

Required Experience
  • Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, human service, or fields related to the objectives of the program required; master's degree preferred
  • Three years of related work experience; Trio and/or government grant management experience preferred
  • A combination of education and/or experience relate dot retention and graduation initiatives will be considered
  • Experience in managing staff, budgets, project performance, and evaluation
  • Experience and knowledge of issues and challenges facing first-generation, low-income students with disabilities and underrepresented populations in higher education
  • Ability to train and execute training and retention programs
  • Ability to motivate staff to retain, graduate, and transfer first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities
  • Ability to execute management-based objectives and data-driven decisions
