Description

Forest Lake Academy (FLA) is one of the largest Adventist high schools in the North American Division and is located in Apopka, Florida, just eight miles north of Orlando. The school offers grades 9-12 to about 420 students and is on the same property as Forest Lake Education Center, a pre-k-8th grade school with nearly 670 students. Numerous AdventHealth Hospitals and the Adventist Health System headquarters as well as all of the attractions in Orlando, including the Disney and Universal theme parks and the beach, are only a short distance away from FLA. 

FLA is seeking a Spanish II teacher for the second semester of this current school year to begin in January 2026. The ideal candidate will be an innovative Spanish teacher, familiar with data-led instruction who is passionate about young people and engages students in learning while also fostering a personal relationship with Jesus. Responsibilities will include teaching four sections of Spanish II, working with the school program in sponsorship and supervision, and other such duties as determined by the administrative team.

Required Experience

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification in Bible is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Must also have Secondary Bible Encounters training or take the training course before school starts. A minimum of three years of successful classroom experience is preferred. Must have a service-oriented attitude; be an effective communicator possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills; and be able to positively engage with students and families of diverse backgrounds, regardless of language, ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status. Possessing competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential. Additional traits should include organization, attention to detail, being self-directed, and being motivated. Absolute confidentiality is required. Curriculum familiarity, content knowledge, and proficiency in instructional delivery are crucial. Most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.
