  • Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC repairs
  • Conduct regular inspections of campus buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring tools are in good working condition
  • Assist with setup and teardown for campus events including furniture arrangement and equipment setup
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and campus visitors
  • Supervise student employees and deal with daily customer problems or situations
  • Institute a safe, clean, and orderly work place in shop areas
  • Assist in campus snow removal
  • Serve on campus committees as requested by the Director
  • Weekend work will be required occasionally and must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies
Required Experience
  • Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Experience in construction including remodeling, maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, framing, drywall, and trim work
  • Basic computer and e-mail skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment and use of plumbing, electrical, and hand tools
  • Must be a self-starter, able to handle the day-to-day operations alone
  • Problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a a team-oriented environment
  • Must be proactive, not falling behind schedule and very organized
  • Must be able to process paperwork and maintain accurate records
  • Must be able to measure time spend on projects and evaluate them
  • A strong desire to work as a member of a high performing team
