Columbia Adventist Academy (CAA), located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and known for its rich spiritual climate and passionate teachers, is seeking a full-time High School Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

CAA’s science program reflects our commitment to engaging minds, nurturing curiosity, and helping students understand God’s creation through rigorous, hands-on learning. We are looking for an educator who inspires, mentors, and leads students both in the classroom and through the broader ministry opportunities that come with serving in a vibrant Seventh-day Adventist high school.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach high-school level Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Create an engaging, student-centered learning environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and a love of science.
  • Integrate Adventist values, biblical worldview, and spiritual mentorship into daily classroom instruction and school life.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic success and spiritual growth.
  • Participate fully in the life of the school, including chapel, class sponsorships, co-curricular programming, and community events.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support a safe, inclusive, Christ-centered learning culture.
  • Fulfill additional duties typical of Adventist secondary educators (e.g., supervision coverage, committees, campus events, etc.).
Required Experience
  • Holds or is eligible for Seventh-day Adventist Secondary Teaching Certification, with an endorsement in Chemistry and Physics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching lab science from a biblical worldview.
  • Exhibits strong classroom management, clear communication, and relational leadership skills.
  • Committed to modeling a Christ-centered life and actively supporting the mission of Adventist education.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team of Christian educators.
  • Experience teaching high-school science in a standards-referenced grading environment is preferred, but not required for strong candidates.
  • Is currently a member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
