Description

Central Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) is seeking a mission-focused Facilities Manager dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational school campus. This position oversees groundskeeping, custodial operations, building and vehicle maintenance, preventative maintenance planning, safety compliance, contractor coordination, emergency response, and support for school activities. The Facilities Manager ensures the effective upkeep of buildings, grounds, vehicles, rental properties, and staff housing, aligning all work with campus safety standards and long-term facility goals. Candidates must be committed Seventh-day Adventists who demonstrate professionalism, integrity, technical competence, and Christian service.    

CVCA is located in Ceres, California, within the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The campus is centrally positioned two hours from Yosemite, Monterey, San Francisco, and Lake Tahoe.

 

• Grounds maintenance including lawns, trees, irrigation systems, and campus safety
• Supervising custodial staff and ensuring daily and deep-cleaning standards
• Tracking and prioritizing maintenance requests using TickTick and shared-drive records
• Performing and coordinating building repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety checks
• Coordinating bids, contractors, service providers, and project timelines
• Maintaining school vehicles including repairs, oil changes, tires, registration, and Bouncie tracking
• Overseeing rental homes and staff housing repairs, inspections, and turnovers
• Managing fire and emergency systems, inspections, and monthly safety drills
• Supporting events with setup, teardown, layouts, equipment, and facility readiness
• Maintaining campus signage, keys, access control, shop organization, and inventory

• Following OSHA-aligned safety protocols and proper chemical handling
• Responding to urgent after-hours facility needs when necessary

 

Required Experience

• Must be a dedicated Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing
• Experience in grounds, custodial oversight, building or vehicle maintenance, or related technical fields
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, tenants, vendors, and contractors
• Eligible to work in the United States at the time of application
