Description

Central Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Junior High Teacher to lead Language Arts instruction and serve as the 5th/6th Grade Homeroom teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate about Adventist education, skilled in teaching reading, writing, grammar, and literature, and committed to nurturing students academically, socially, and spiritually. This teacher will create an engaging and supportive classroom environment, integrate Adventist values into instruction, and collaborate closely with junior high colleagues to support student growth and a thriving school culture. Candidates must be committed Seventh-day Adventists.

Responsibilities Include

  • Teach middle school Language Arts: reading, writing, literature, and grammar
  • Serve as the 5th/6th Grade Homeroom teacher
  • Create lesson plans aligned with NAD and CVCA curriculum standards
  • Provide differentiated instruction for diverse learners
  • Assess learning and maintain accurate grade records
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and expectations
  • Support school events, programs, and extracurricular activities
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and accreditation work
  • Model Christlike character and cultivate a positive classroom culture
  • Supervise students for recess, duties, field trips, and other activities as assigned

Location
CVCA is located in Ceres, California, within the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Our campus is near Yosemite, Monterey, San Francisco, and Lake Tahoe, offering access to outdoor recreation and vibrant community life.

Required Experience
  • Dedicated Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (master’s preferred)
  • Holds or can obtain denominational teaching certification
  • Experience teaching middle school students, preferably Language Arts
  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
  • Ability to integrate faith and learning
  • Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Eligible to work in the United States at the time of application
