Mission-driven Gr. 1-8 Teaching Principal--School Re-Opening

Cottage Grove Christian School in Cottage Grove, OR
North Pacific Union Conference | Oregon Conference of SDA
Description

Are you eager to share your love of Jesus with students and apply your teaching and leadership skills in a mission-driven school community? Look no further! Cottage Grove Christian School—located in the beautiful Umpqua River Valley just minutes from Interstate 5 in Oregon—is seeking a Grades 1–8 Teaching Principal for the 2026–27 school year and beyond.

The school is located in Cottage Grove, Oregon, a charming small town just twenty minutes south of Eugene–Springfield bordering the Cascade foothills. Cottage Grove is known as the “Covered Bridge Capital of the West” and features six covered bridges, including the last remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi River.

Cottage Grove Christian School is seeking a personable, relational, professional, organized, and creative Grades 1–8 teacher who truly loves Jesus and is called to both teach students and lead the small Christian school. The successful candidate will partner closely with a dedicated school board and supportive church family, embracing the school’s mission and contributing positively to the spiritual life of the broader community. Regular attendance at the local church is expected, and there are opportunities—according to interest and gifts—for meaningful but manageable participation in church life.

As the school prepares to reopen after a year of suspended operations, the teaching principal will also play a collaborative role in student recruitment and school marketing efforts, working alongside the board and church members to help rebuild enrollment and visibility in the community.

Required Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and current NAD Elementary certification, or be willing to work toward certification. The ideal applicant will have multigrade teaching experience and familiarity with, or training in, standards-based learning. Candidates must be active members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, have the legal right to work and reside in the United States, and be aligned with the mission of Adventist Christian education. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy.

Please submit your resume, including at least three professional references with email addresses and phone numbers. For additional information, you are welcome to contact Associate Superintendent Kim Cornette at 541-951-5444. Interviews may take place prior to the resume submission deadline.
