The life coach is responsible for the achievement of excellent services in coaching, academic advising, academic support skills, and non-academic support tools. This individual will be a partner in implementing strategic initiatives related to student retention, engagement, and graduation, and will assume programmatic support responsibilities.
- Serves as a life coach/academic advisor for assigned freshmen.
- Utilizes student success and coaching best practices to mentor assigned freshmen.
- Works with high-risk student populations and provides specialized services as needed.
- Assists freshmen with registration throughout the academic year.
- Provides accountability coaching for the academic probation population.
- Works with faculty to ensure awareness of any adjustments in the curriculum that may affect course selection for new and transfer students.
- Assess student needs, provide appropriate interventions, develop strategies to overcome barriers to success, and offer referrals and access to campus and community resources to ensure students thrive in academics.
- Provide life coaching services to upperclassmen as assigned.
- Participate in recruiting events and Campus Visits by prospective students.
- Responsible for tracking data for grant-related required activities.
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
