The Career Development and Operations Manager in the Student Success Department will oversee an array of career development services, including coaching and advising students in calling/vocational exploration, developing experiential and service-learning opportunities, preparing workshops and materials for students regarding interview and resume preparation, delivering information and training on graduate school application processes, and developing relationships with community partners to expand leadership opportunities for students. This position will support the executive director for Student Success in implementing student outreach and strategic initiatives that promote academic success, retention, and graduation.

Required Experience
  • Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related filed required. Mater's degree in education, career counseling and development, employee relations, or related fields preferred.
  • Successful, proven experience in university advising and university success strategies preferred.
  • Three years of experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Ability to implement goals, including planning workshops and education programs for underrepresented students.
  • Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with students; demonstrate a heart for students and a passion for helping them succeed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and collaborative skills.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Display integrity, respect, and professionalism; Possess analytical ability, judgment, and ingenuity,.
  • Have self-direction, dependability, and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of career development with university students and program planning skills, including a special focus on low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office products to track data and develop reports.
