Position Overview

Greater Lansing Adventist School (GLAS) is seeking a Christ-centered, mission-driven Grades 3–5 teacher to join our close-knit learning community. This position is ideal for an educator who loves working with elementary students, values collaboration, and is passionate about integrating faith, learning, and service.

GLAS serves families in the Greater Lansing area and surrounding communities. Our school is known for its warm, family-oriented culture, supportive board and church partners, and commitment to academic excellence and spiritual growth in a small-school environment.

Required Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction for students in Grades 3–5
  • Integrate a biblical worldview and Adventist values throughout the curriculum
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and well-organized classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively and partner with parents to support student success
  • Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, staff, and administration
  • Use assessments and data to guide instruction and support student growth
  • Utilize instructional technology and classroom tools effectively

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will:

  • Hold or be eligible for Seventh-day Adventist (NAD) teacher certification
  • Have elementary teaching experience (multi-grade experience preferred)
  • Demonstrate strengths in reading and math instruction
  • Be comfortable using classroom technology and educational software
  • Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and relational skills
  • Model Christian character and uphold the beliefs, values, and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States

Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus but not required.

Application Process

Candidates must be active members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good and regular standing and demonstrate a willingness to model Adventist beliefs, lifestyle values, and standards. Applicants should show strong instructional practice, effective classroom management, and clear communication skills, along with a commitment to Adventist education and mission-centered teaching.
