Description

About Our School

Saipan Seventh-day Adventist School is located on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Our school serves students from early childhood through eighth grade, with an enrollment of approximately 100 students. As a Christian school, we focus on academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth based on biblical principles. Our close-knit school community allows for personalized instruction and strong relationships between teachers, students, and families. We also emphasize service learning and multicultural education, reflecting the diverse background of our island community.

Role Description

The position is for a full-time Homeroom Teacher serving one of the elementary or middle school grade levels. Grade-level assignment may change based on enrollment and school needs, but job responsibilities remain consistent. The teacher will provide instruction in core subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Bible. The position includes classroom management, lesson planning, student assessment, parent communication, and participation in school programs and activities. Average class size is approximately 10–15 students. This is a full-time position for the entire school year.

  • A commitment to Christian education and alignment with Seventh-day Adventist beliefs is required.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents (green card holders), or possess a valid work visa authorizing employment in the United States, as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is a U.S. territory.

Additional Information

Candidates who are willing to commit to long-term service of three years or more are strongly preferred. Proficiency in using IT devices and educational technology for instruction and communication is desirable. Applicants who demonstrate strength in at least one of the following areas—Art, Sports, Music, STEM, English Language Support (ELL/ESL), Student Mentoring, Chapel/Worship Leadership, or Curriculum Development—are preferred.

Most of our students come from non-Seventh-day Adventist backgrounds. For many of them, attending our school may be their first and only opportunity to receive Christian and Bible-based education. We are seeking teachers who see their role as missionaries—individuals who are willing to plant seeds of faith and truth in the hearts of young people.

Saipan offers a unique balance between natural beauty and modern infrastructure. It is neither too remote nor overly urban, providing a comfortable and supportive living environment. With direct flights to Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, the island also offers convenient access for travel during school breaks and holidays.

Our school is supported by two local churches, creating opportunities for collaboration in worship, outreach, and community service. Surrounded by a beautiful environment, equipped with quality facilities, and blessed with sincere and eager students, Saipan SDA School is prayerfully seeking dedicated teachers who are ready to serve with commitment and heart.
