Indiana Academy is seeking a Women's Head Dean for the 2026-2027 school year.  IA is located in Cicero, Indiana, on 500 acres of farmland and woods with a private pond for canoeing or fishing.  Our academy has a diverse student population representing twenty-three countries.  IA also annually partners with the Cicero SDA Church for mission trips with recent expeditions to El Salvador and Sri Lanka.

Cicero is just thirty minutes north of Indianapolis and located in Hamilton County, often considered the top county in the United States for families due to its growth, safety and affordability.  Indiana is a Choice Scholarship state which contributes an average of $6,500 towards a student’s tuition for nonpublic education.

 

Job Description

The Women’s Head Dean is responsible for overseeing the residential life and personal development of female dorm students at Indiana Academy.  This role involves fostering a safe, positive, structured, and supportive environment that reflects Christ and aligns with Seventh-day Adventist beliefs and values. The Women’s Head Dean will work closely with students, staff, and parents to ensure student success and well-being while also promoting an environment of spiritual growth.  

Required Experience

Qualifications

  • A passion for developing the character and spiritual life of our students
  • Bachelor’s degree in student life, counseling, or education
  • Boarding school experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership, crisis and conflict management, organization, communication, ability to work collaboratively and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle disciplinary matters with consistency and fairness
  • Background in organizing and implementing student activities, worship, and leadership programs
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Teaching certifications are preferred not required

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Promote a positive, respectful dorm culture consistent with Adventist values and school policies
  • Serve as a role model of Christian character and professionalism
  • Excel at open communication with students and parents
  • Collaborate with dorm staff, faculty, administration, and parents regarding student well-being
  • Support student spiritual life, worships, and campus activities
  • Speak multiple languages
  • Bring experience teaching at the high school level
  • Oversee and support the assistant dean and the dormitory resident assistants
  • Provide a process and proven track record of maintaining accurate records, while maintaining confidentiality
