Role Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and safety of all school facilities, equipment, and grounds. This full-time position ensures that classrooms, offices, dormitories (if applicable), and outdoor areas are clean, functional, and well-maintained.

The Supervisor leads and coordinates the maintenance team, schedules routine inspections, manages repairs, and ensures compliance with safety standards. This role also includes managing maintenance supplies, supervising contractors when needed, and responding promptly to facility emergencies.

As a missionary role, the Maintenance Supervisor is expected to model integrity, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude, supporting the school's mission while respecting local culture and community practices. The Supervisor may also train staff or students in basic maintenance skills as needed.

Required Experience

Requirements

  • Completion of at least 2 years of college in a relevant field such as mechanics, electrical, technical maintenance, or a related course
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, mechanical repairs, or technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate a maintenance team
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness
  • Willingness to work in a missionary capacity and support the school's values and operations
  • Ability to adapt to island living and work harmoniously with the local community
  • Preferred: prior experience in supervising a maintenance or facilities team
  • Preferred: familiarity with school facilities, equipment, or island infrastructure systems
  • Preferred: additional technical certifications or training
  • Preferred: strong understanding of safety protocols and preventive maintenance practices
  • Preferred: ability to train or mentor staff and students in basic maintenance skills

Additional Information

Lodging will be provided with basic home furnishings and cleaning supplies. Wi-Fi is available in both the classrooms and apartments. Ten percent (10%) of salary will be deducted for rent, with an additional $20 for utilities. This call is for a single individual only; no child accommodations are available.
