Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, FL
Southern Union Conference | Florida Conference
Description

Forest Lake Academy (FLA) is one of the largest Adventist high schools in the North American Division and is located in Apopka, Florida, just eight miles north of Orlando. The school offers grades 9-12 to nearly 400 students and is on the same property as Forest Lake Education Center, a pre-k-8th-grade school with about 670 students. Numerous AdventHealth Hospitals and the Adventist Health System headquarters as well as all of the attractions in Orlando (Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, etc.) and the beaches are only a short distance away from FLA. By this fall, the school will have just completed an extensive expansion project that is creating a renewed energy and excitement on campus with the new facilities.

FLA has an opening for a full-time caring, dynamic, engaging, creative, and student-centered high school math teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The preferred candidate would have experience with standards-based teaching and assessing. This teacher would become part of a collaborative team of four full-time math teachers. Responsibilities would include teaching six math classes, most likely a combination of Mathematics for Data & Financial Literacy (Financial Algebra), Algebra I-A, Algebra I-B and Algebra II. Ideal candidates should be able to work with a variety of students in a multi-cultural environment. Effective communication within the team, with administration, and with parents is vital. The ideal teacher would be currently teaching high school math with good references.
