Description: Pine Tree Academy (PTA) has an opening for an English teacher/registrar. The teacher will be responsible for instructing secondary English Composition and American Literature classes. The teacher will manage admissions and graduation processes and ensure compliance with academic policies. The teacher will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the school principal. Pine Tree Academy prepares young people from Pre-K through 12th grade for success in life through Christ-centered education and exceptional academics. For more than 40 years, Pine Tree graduates have gone into the world instilled with inner strength and balance, prepared to meet their future with optimism and confidence. PTA is located in coastal Freeport, Maine and serves students in PreK through 12th grade. The school is only ten minutes from the ocean, the beautiful White mountains are less than two hours’ drive. This long-established school with a dormitory, music program and varsity sports presently serves 130 students. Not only are we blessed with natural beauty, but are home to L.L Bean and other numerous outlets and locally owned shops. We are also close to the rich cultural and historical experiences of Portland, ME and Boston, Massachusetts. 

 

 

 

Required Experience

Experience: The qualified candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and hold a NAD Conditional, Basic, Standard, or Professional Teacher certificate in secondary English.
