Sitka Adventist School located in Sitka Alaska, is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and organized 1st thru 8th grade lead teacher who loves working with children and sharing their love for Christ.
Sitka Adventist School, which sits right on the ocean, is a well-established institution and a long-standing part of the Sitka community. Sitka is an extraordinary island community where towering mountains meet the sparkling sea and adventure lives around every corner! Beautifully nestled in the heart of Southeast Alaska’s lush rainforest, Sitka is a place where creativity thrives.
Here, nature isn’t just scenery — it’s your neighbor. Brown bears roam the forests, bald eagles soar overhead, and all five species of Pacific salmon along with other sea-life including whales return to local waters each year. Despite its wild beauty, Sitka enjoys a mild coastal climate compared to much of Alaska, with less snow and more temperate weather in the southern region of the state.
Sitka is also a treasured stop for many cruise lines, welcoming visitors from around the world who come to experience its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant arts scene, and warm hospitality. The community is friendly and welcoming, blending small-town charm with modern conveniences. With easy flight connections to Seattle and Anchorage, Sitka feels both wonderfully remote and comfortably connected.
Sitka isn’t just a place to visit — it’s a place to belong, explore, and be inspired. Be sure to look at the Sitka visitors website….
If you possess a denominational elementary teaching certificate and are an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in good standing, you are the ideal candidate! However, those with other teaching certifications/educational background will also be considered.
