We are currently supported by seven managing churches that partner with us in providing Christ-centered education.

Job Summary
Houston Adventist Academy is seeking a dedicated, spiritually committed Treasurer to establish and maintain accurate, transparent accounting for all financial transactions. The Treasurer must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently, primarily managing the school’s financial operations with competence and integrity, also recognizing the limits of their expertise and seeking guidance or professional support when necessary. The ideal candidate will integrate faith into learning, foster a Christ-centered environment, and uphold the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain accurate records of all student accounts using the FACTS system, all church accounts, and all designated fund accounts, also issuing monthly invoices and billing statements
- Ensure all bills are paid on time and accurately recorded, and that payroll is processed accurately and on schedule each pay period.
- Approve timesheets for LFE
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and manage collections in compliance with applicable laws and policies. While also monitoring and managing all Accounts Payable balances
- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly, manage and record all credit card transactions, and oversee credit card processing systems
- Develop and prepare the annual operating budget, and prepare and present monthly financial reports for the school board
- Complete month-end closing, year-end closing and yearly audit
- Lead monthly Finance Committee meetings and present monthly financial reports to the school board, ensuring a clear understanding of the school's financial position. Seek board action when necessary to maintain financial stability and operational effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accepted accounting principles while upholding school policies, safety standards, and Adventist educational principles
- Maintain proper segregation of duties to ensure sound internal controls and ensure appropriate delegation of financial authority in accordance with policy
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and the church community in school activities and staff meetings to support student and professional development
