Description

Forest City Adventist School is a large pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade elementary school located in Orlando, Florida. The school is expanding to a Junior Academy next year by adding ninth grade and plans to add tenth grade the following school year. Currently, ten classroom teachers, an administrator, and additional support staff provide instruction and services to an enrollment of 200 students. The school is operated by the Forest City Spanish SDA Church, so it would be beneficial for applicants to have the ability to communicate in Spanish as well as English and feel comfortable attending church within a Spanish language congregation. FCAS is only a few miles from Forest Lake Academy, the Adventist Health System headquarters, and numerous AdventHealth hospitals. In addition, all of the Central Florida attractions including downtown Orlando, the Disney and Universal theme parks, and the beach are only a short distance away.

FCAS is seeking an experience junior academy math and science teacher for the upcoming school year. The school is expanding to include ninth grade for the upcoming year and plans to add tenth grade the following school year. Responsibilities would include having a homeroom classroom and teaching science and math to the junior academy students, as well as middle school grades, possibly grades 6-8.

Required Experience

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification with Junior Academy Endorsements in math and science is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Three years of successful classroom experience is preferred

Forest City Adventist School is operated by the Forest City Adventist Seventh day Church and is in its own building on the church campus. The school had its beginning in 1986 with three classrooms and has expanded to meet the increasing enrollment over the years. Presently we offer VPK through eighth grade.
