The Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Teaching Principal/Teacher for Ithaca Seventh-day Adventist School, beginning in the upcoming school year.

Located in the welcoming community of Ithaca, Michigan, Ithaca Seventh-day Adventist School provides students with a Christ-centered education where the mission is to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve.

This position offers a meaningful opportunity for an educator who is excited about small-school ministry, multi-grade teaching, and collaborative leadership with the local church and community.

Position Overview

The Teaching Principal/Teacher will provide spiritual, academic, and administrative leadership while teaching in a multi-grade classroom. The ideal candidate is passionate about Adventist education and committed to fostering an environment where students grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and manage a multi-grade classroom (K–8)
  • Provide instruction aligned with NAD curriculum and the Adventist philosophy of education
  • Serve as the instructional and spiritual leader of the school
  • Work collaboratively with the school board, local church, and Michigan Conference Education Department
  • Promote school growth, enrollment, and community engagement
  • Foster a Christ-centered learning environment where students develop character, service, and academic excellence.
Required Experience

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s degree preferred) and be eligible for a Seventh-day Adventist teaching credential (current certification preferred).

Experience in K–8, multi-grade, or one-room school settings is strongly preferred, with three to five years of multi-grade teaching experience desired.

Candidates must be active members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good and regular standing and demonstrate a willingness to model Adventist beliefs, lifestyle values, and standards.

Applicants should also exhibit strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a clear commitment to Adventist education and mission-centered ministry.
