The Principal serves as the chief educational and spiritual leader of the academy and is responsible for advancing the school’s mission to provide a distinctly Seventh-day Adventist college preparatory program in order to produce disciples of Jesus who are compassionate citizens. The Principal provides visionary leadership for the spiritual life, academic program, residential culture, and operational vitality of the school.
This leader will cultivate a thriving campus environment where students grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically while preparing them for service to God and humanity.
The Principal must demonstrate strong entrepreneurial initiative, collaborative leadership, and the ability to build a mission-driven staff culture aligned with the values and educational philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary spiritual leader of the academy, modeling a deep and authentic Christian faith consistent with the beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Foster a campus culture that prioritizes spiritual formation, discipleship, and service.
- Encourage faculty and staff to integrate faith and learning in all academic disciplines.
- Support the spiritual development of boarding students through collaboration with chaplains, deans, and residence staff.
- Cast and implement a compelling vision for the school aligned with the mission of Adventist education.
- Identify innovative opportunities for program growth, enrollment expansion, and mission impact.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and creative problem-solving.
- Partner with the school board and conference leadership to strategically position the school for long-term sustainability.
- Build and nurture a collaborative, mission-driven staff culture grounded in trust, respect, and shared purpose.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality educators committed to Adventist education.
- Promote open communication, team unity, and professional growth among staff.
- Create systems that encourage collaboration between academic, residential, and spiritual life teams.
- Model servant leadership and cultivate a positive workplace environment.
- Work closely with the local church pastor to strengthen the spiritual life of the campus community.
- Partner with the elementary school principal to ensure alignment of mission, values, and educational philosophy across grade levels.
- Foster strong relationships with conference leadership, church members, parents, and alumni.
- Encourage the integration of church, school, and community in the life of the academy.
- Ensure the boarding program reflects a nurturing, Christ-centered home environment.
- Work collaboratively with deans and residential staff to support student well-being and character development.
- Promote programs that support leadership development, service, and spiritual growth among students.
- Serve as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador for the school.
- Support enrollment and development departments through relationship-building with churches, families, and feeder schools.
- Ensure that facilities, resources, and programs support the mission and strategic direction of the school.
