Description

Spring Valley Academy (SVA), a PreK–12 school in Centerville, Ohio, is seeking a mission-driven and experienced Development, Marketing, and Alumni Relations Director. This individual will lead the school’s efforts to strengthen community engagement, grow philanthropic support, enhance marketing and communications, and build meaningful relationships with alumni and constituents.

The ideal candidate is a committed Seventh-day Adventist who is passionate about Christian education and skilled in strategic communication, fundraising, and relationship development. This role plays a vital part in advancing the mission and long-term sustainability of Spring Valley Academy.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to support the mission and growth of SVA
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, parents, churches, businesses, and community partners
  • Plan and manage fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and donor stewardship programs
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities and philanthropic partnerships
  • Maintain donor records and oversee acknowledgment and reporting processes

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead the school’s marketing strategy to increase enrollment, visibility, and engagement
  • Manage brand messaging, storytelling, and promotional materials
  • Oversee digital presence including website content, email communications, and social media
  • Coordinate advertising and promotional campaigns for admissions and major events
  • Collaborate with administration and faculty to highlight student success and school programs

Alumni Relations

  • Build and maintain a strong alumni network
  • Organize alumni events and engagement opportunities
  • Maintain alumni databases and communications
  • Encourage alumni involvement in mentoring, events, and giving initiatives
Required Experience
  • Active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Experience in marketing, fundraising, communications, or development preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media management, and donor databases preferred
  • Passion for Christian education and the mission of Seventh-day Adventist schools
