Description

Mountain View Academy is looking for a qualified high school history teacher to join our school family. The individual will teach all social studies classes, including World History, U.S. History, Honors U.S. History, U.S. Government, Honors U.S. Government, and Economics. Consider this ministry opportunity in the heart of Silicon Valley.

 

Mountain View Academy is a grades 9-12 day academy located in Mountain View, California, a suburban city in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our campus is uniquely located on a city block, walking distance from downtown Mountain View and many public transportation options. Our student body reflects the vibrancy and diversity of our community. 

Required Experience

Expectations for candidate

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in History. Adventist teaching credential preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good classroom management skills
  • Comfortable working with current and emerging education and communication technologies (including Google Education programs and FACTS/RenWeb)
  • Willingness to perform other extra curricular duties as assigned, for example class sponsorship, homeroom, subbing, and supervision
  • Preferred: Additional endorsement and willingness to teach additional subjects
  • Preferred: 3+ years teaching in an SDA educational institution 

 

Wage range is $68,014-$84,230
