VHM Christian School (VHM) is seeking a dedicated, experienced and highly energetic teacher for grades 5 & 6. Located just 90 miles south of San Francisco and 13 miles from Monterey Bay Academy, you can find VHM Christian School along the Pacific coast. This puts hiking, mountains, the ocean, and even Silicon Valley at your doorstep. VHM is a K-8 school with five supportive constituent churches.

Candidates will be committed to VHM’s mission and have a passion for Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education. The ideal candidate must hold a current North American Division Basic, Standard or Professional teaching certificate in elementary education. The candidate must be in regular standing with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The candidate must be eligible to work in the United States at the time of application. The contract begins on July 1, 2026 with first day to report on August 3, 2026. The salary range for the teaching position is $65,825.87 to $82,041.99 based on North American Division teacher certification and experience.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional in Elementary Education
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to plan and lead daily classes
• Good classroom management skills
• Comfortable working with current and emerging education and communication technologies (including Google Education programs and FACTS/RenWeb)
• A team player
• Maintains a spiritual presence and commitment
• Has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ
• Familiar with elementary curriculum and standards-based learning
• Possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication
