Foothill Adventist Elementary School (Foothill) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and loving teacher for Grades 7 & 8 who are committed to the mission of Adventist Education. Foothill is a K-8 school with a supportive community. Foothill is located in beautiful Milpitas, CA, in the foothills of East San Jose. San Francisco is just an hour to the north; Monterey Bay is just an hour to the south. This puts hiking, city exploration, mountain exploration, the bay, and other activities close to the school. 

This opening is for the 2026-2027 school year; the contract starts July 1, 2026. Reporting date for the 10-month assignment starts on August 3, 2026. The ideal candidate must hold a current North American Division Basic, Standard, or Professional teaching certificate in elementary education. The candidate must be in regular standing with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The candidate must be eligible to work in the United States at the time of application. The salary range for the teaching position is $67,262.27 to $83,478.39 based on North American Division teacher certification and experience. 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional in Elementary Education
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to plan and lead daily classes
• Good classroom management skills
• Comfortable working with current and emerging education and communication technologies (including Google Education programs and FACTS/RenWeb)
• A team player
• Maintains a spiritual presence and commitment
• Has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ
• Familiar with elementary curriculum and standards-based learning
• Possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication
