Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy is a senior day academy located in beautiful Atlanta, GA..  GAAA administration is seeking a dynamic, spiritually grounded, and highly effective educator to serve as a Senior High School English Instructor.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication, while integrating faith and learning in alignment with the mission of Seventh-day Adventist education and prepare students  to participate in our dual enrollment program, when necessary. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach high school English courses (grades 9–12), including literature, composition, and grammar
  • Develop and implement standards-based instruction utilizing North American Division (NAD) approved curriculum and resources
  • Foster strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and support student achievement

Student Development

  • Create a classroom environment that is engaging, structured, and student-centered
  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, and academic excellence
  • Integrate biblical principles and faith-based perspectives into instruction
  • Support students’ social-emotional and spiritual growth

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate student records and provide timely feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide academic goals
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with parents, administration, and stakeholders.

We are seeking an educator who is more than a teacher but also a mentor, communicator, and cultivator of thought, and one who will inspire students to think deeply, write effectively, and engage meaningfully with the world around them.  The ideal candidate will bring both academic rigor and relational connection to the classroom.

Required Experience

Committed Christian and Seventh-day Adventists in regular standing. 

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).  Valid NAD teaching certification or eligibility for certification.  Demonstrated effectiveness in secondary English instruction.  Minimum one to three years of experience, preferred. Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Familiarity with NAD curriculum standards.  Experience with advanced courses (Honors, Dual Credit, or AP English).
