Midland Adventist Academy (MAA) is seeking a passionate, mission-driven educator to serve as the 7th-8th grade homeroom teacher and grades 5-8 English Language Arts and History instructor. This instructor also teaches 7th-8th Bible. This position is a part of our newly departmentalized middle-grade structure designed to strengthen instruction, support teacher specialization, and provide students with more consistent and developmentally appropriate learning experience.
The ideal candidate is spiritually grounded, highly organized, and enthusiastic about guiding students through the transition toward high-school-style scheduling while maintaining strong relational connections.
MAA is a K-12 day school in suburban Shawnee, Kansas, and has an enrollment of 140 students, with approximately 105 students in grades K-8 and 35 students in grades 9-12. Shawnee is located within twenty minutes of downtown Kansas City, the historic Country Club Plaza, the National World War I museum, and the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts.
A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in education, current SDA denominational certification or ability to obtain it, and the ability to work in the USA. The candidate will need a strong background in ELA and/or Social Studies instruction.
