Atholton Adventist Academy is seeking a regular full-time, exempt (salaried), business manager who has a strong accounting background that can complete and interpret a reliable financial statement. This candidate will be able to identify and utilize provided tools that assist in reporting to the school board and finance committee the school’s financial status. In addition, the preferred candidate will be able to foster strong working relationships with families in creating and managing positive financial plans. This position is responsible for the daily financial operations of the school. This includes, but is not limited to, accounting, budgeting, development of financial statements/ financial agreements, payroll functions, HR functions, communication with parents, customer service, use of FACTS/RenWeb SIS, and auditing. This position is a full time salaried position with benefits. The ideal candidate must be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good and regular standing and who models Adventist beliefs and traditional Adventist lifestyle values and standards. AAA is culturally diverse with 232 students in PK3 to high school, served by 25 faculty and staff. 60 percent of the faculty hold masters degrees, and all grade 9-12 faculty hold secondary certification. The school is poised for continued growth over the next 3-5 years. Atholton is located in suburban Columbia, MD within minutes of the GC, NAD, Columbia Union, Chesapeake Conference, Washington Adventist University, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Care Center and Shady Grove Hospital.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience with accounting. At minimum, the candidate should have a bachelor’s in accounting or business. Prior SDA educational experience is a plus. The candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and must be a member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
