The full-time faculty member will be accountable for quality delivery of undergraduate nursing courses. This includes utilizing effective teaching/learning practices in the classroom, engaging with students to promote learning and professional growth in a variety of settings, and participating with the Nursing Department faculty/staff team to support departmental activities and goals. Academic advising, student support, and NCLEX success initiatives are incorporated within the faculty role. Must be a committed Seventh-day Adventist.

Required Experience
  • Teach undergraduate courses
  • Engage students in rigorous academic learning to prepare for NCLEX and career success 
  • Implement effective, active-learning teaching strategies that promote student learning and growth
  • Possess current knowledge of the field
  • Ability to connect with students and to track student progress in ways that promote success 
  • Ability to build relationships with community partners 
  • Effective in advising and mentoring students
  • Participate in program/curriculum development and accreditation activities in collaboration with department faculty
  • Actively support the department, including participation in department and university committees

Primary Qualifications

MSN required, doctoral degree preferred

Active, unencumbered Texas RN license

Professional role model

Passion for teaching and inspiring students 

Supportive team player

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in undergraduate nursing education

Critical care clinical background
