THE CONFERENCE IS IMMEDIATELY SEEKING AN EXCEPTIONAL, MISSION-DRIVEN EDUCATIONAL LEADER TO SERVE AS PRINCIPAL OF BI DURING A PERIOD OF RENEWAL AND TRANSFORMATION. 

The role presents a unique opportunity to lead a comprehensive turnaround aimed at strengthening academic performance, restoring a positive and disciplined school culture, ensuring financial sustainability, and deepening the spiritual life of the school community. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to the values and educational philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and possess strong leadership abilities 

Required Experience

Spiritual Leadership

  • Lead and nurture the spiritual life of the school
  • Promote a Christ-centered environment through worship, values, and daily practice
  • Support the faith development of students and staff
  • Promote the integration of faith and learning

Strategic & Instructional Leadership

  • Develop and/or implement a clear school turnaround and improvement plan
  • Use data to guide decision-making and interventions
  • Coach, mentor, and support teachers through ongoing professional development, clear performance       expectations, and constructive evaluation to strengthen instructional practice
  • Provide focused investment in teaching strategies that result in higher levels of student achievement and       overall academic success

Organizational & Financial Leadership

  • Ensure effective financial management and sustainability
  • Align resources with strategic priorities
  • Establish clear systems, standards, and lines of accountability
  • Strengthen organizational structures and operational systems to ensure clarity, efficiency, and effective day-      to-day management across the school

School Culture & Community Engagement

  • Foster a Christ-centered environment that nurtures spiritual growth, reflection, and a shared sense of       purpose for this world and the world to come
  • Build a positive, disciplined, and inclusive school culture
  • Strengthen relationships with parents, constituents, and community stakeholders
  • Promote trust, transparency, and shared responsibility

The successful candidate must:

  • Be a practicing Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing who loves children and models Christianity by       upholding the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Demonstrate a proven experience in school leadership and improvement
  • Possess strong instructional leadership and data-informed practices
  • Possess the ability to lead change in challenging times and environments
  • Possess financial and organizational management expertise
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Possess deep personal faith and spiritual maturity

Required Uploads: 

  • An up-to-date résumé, along with certified copies of relevant qualifications
  • Three references with email addresses, including one from your current supervisor and current pastor

Additional Information to be secured and provided:

  • Bermuda Educator's Council License 
  • Denominational Certification
  • SCARS Certificate
  • A certified police background check from each jurisdiction/country lived in for the past 10 years

Applicants must also be willing to comply with Bermuda Institute’s workplace COVID Testing policy as a condition of employment and be subjected to a Child Abuse Clearance verification from the Department of Child and Family Services.  Experience in leading a school through an accreditation review would be an asset.

Appointment is for a three-year period with the opportunity for further appointments based on performance. Pay rate is based on the denominational wage scale and policy determinations for senior leaders operating at BI.
