Beltsville Adventist School (BAS) is a multi-cultural K–8 school located in Beltsville, MD, with a consistent enrollment of approximately 200 students. Our mission is to provide a safe, Christ-centered education where students cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus while achieving academic excellence. BAS is recognized for its academic rigor and has a constituency of four churches.

 

Position Summary

Beltsville Adventist School is seeking a highly qualified and mission-driven Vice Principal to collaborate closely with the Principal in the administration and leadership of the school. The Vice Principal will provide educational leadership in student affairs, instructional support, curriculum development, and staff growth, and will serve as the primary administrator in the Principal’s absence. This position reports directly to the Principal.

Required Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Assist with staffing, scheduling, and school-wide discipline.
  • Educational Leadership: Support curriculum development, teacher supervision, instructional coaching, and professional growth initiatives.
  • School Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing school improvement plans, educational programs, and marketing strategies.
  • Operational Management: Assist in school event planning and navigate complex interpersonal situations with professionalism.

Candidate Profile

  • Educational Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead within a school or educational setting, fostering a safe and nurturing environment through respectful relationships with teachers, students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to support positive student behavior and build respectful relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Innovation: A naturally inquisitive mindset focused on finding effective solutions to educational challenges.
  • Professionalism: High energy level, strong work ethic, and a commitment to professional excellence in all aspects of the role.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with educational technology is strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification: North American Division (NAD) Certification is required.
  • Endorsement: NAD Administrative Endorsement is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Successful school-based administrative experience is required (e.g., Vice Principal, Principal, Dean of Students, Instructional Coach, or other educational leadership roles).
  • Grade-Level Experience: Experience working in an elementary and/or middle school setting is strongly preferred.
  • Eligibility: Must have the legal right to work in the United States and provide supporting evidence upon employment.
