Portland Adventist Elementary School is seeking a Music Teacher to support the spiritual, artistic, and academic life of the school. The Music Teacher works closely with teachers, staff, families, and administration to foster a Christ-centered learning environment for approximately 250 students. This role includes leading Beginning and Middle School Bands, Choirs, and Handbell ensembles, as well as providing engaging elementary classroom music instruction. The teacher plays a key role in cultivating a school culture that reflects the mission and values of Seventh-day Adventist education through music and worship.
Located in Gresham, Oregon, Portland Adventist Elementary School is part of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists education system. The school is situated in the Portland metropolitan area, which offers a wide range of cultural opportunities including museums, performing arts, and community events. The region is also known for its access to outdoor recreation, with nearby rivers, forests, hiking trails, and the Columbia River Gorge providing abundant opportunities for exploration and outdoor activities.
We are seeking a committed Seventh-day Adventist with a passion for sharing Christ daily with students, teachers, and families. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching music across elementary and middle school grade levels, including instrumental and vocal instruction. A bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field is required, with a minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Salary and benefits follow the denominational wage scale and policy.
