Upper Elementary Teacher

Toledo Junior Academy in Toledo, OH
Columbia Union Conference | Ohio Conference
Description

We are seeking a Middle School Educator for Toledo Junior Academy (TJA). This is a unique opportunity to join a school with a rich history dating back to 1922, now operating in a state-of-the-art facility nestled in a serene landscape.

Toledo is a hub of educational inspiration, offering students and faculty proximity to the Imagination Station science center, the Toledo Museum of Art, and the vast biodiversity of the Metroparks Toledo system. Our educators leverage these local gems to expand the classroom beyond four walls.

Position: Grades 6-8 Educator

Toledo Junior Academy is seeking a missionary at heart to serve as our Middle School Teacher. We believe that true education is the "harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers." In this role, you are not merely delivering a curriculum; you are a facilitator of the redemptive process, working to restore the image of God in each student.

The Mission and Character Our middle school program is designed to guide students through the critical transition from childhood to young adulthood. We seek an educator who prioritizes character development and values like honesty, integrity, and service. You will lead students in daily Bible study and weekly worship, creating an environment where the Holy Spirit can transform lives. This position requires Grit the internal strength to persevere through the challenges of multi grade instruction and the spiritual stamina to mentor young souls during their formative years.

The Collaborative Ministry You will not labor alone. TJA thrives on a Team-First Mindset. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated faculty and a supportive school board. Our constituent churches are deeply invested in the school, providing a robust support system through prayer, volunteerism, and financial partnership. We are looking for a "team player" who views their colleagues as partners in a high calling.

Redemptive Discipline In alignment with our Seventh-day Adventist worldview, we utilize redemptive discipline. Your classroom will be a place where grace and accountability meet, teaching students to solve problems without creating new ones and helping them understand their value as children of God.
