Spring Valley Academy is seeking a passionate, creative, and mission-minded K–12 Art Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. We are looking for an educator who loves working with students of all ages, values excellence in Christian education, and is excited to inspire creativity through the visual arts.

Position Summary

The K–12 Art Teacher will provide engaging art instruction for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. This individual will cultivate artistic skills, creative expression, and appreciation for beauty while integrating faith and character development into the classroom experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach art classes for students in grades K–12
  • Develop age-appropriate curriculum in drawing, painting, sculpture, design, ceramics, mixed media, and art history
  • Foster a positive, organized, and inspiring classroom environment
  • Encourage creativity while building technical skills and artistic confidence
  • Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school and community
  • Integrate Christian values and biblical principles into instruction
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the mission of the school
  • Assist with art shows, special programs, and school events as needed

 

Compensation

Denominational salary and benefits based on education, certification, and experience.

 

Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (teaching certification preferred)
  • Experience teaching children and/or adolescents preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of artistic media and techniques
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • No visa sponsorship is available for this position
  • Commitment to Christian education and mentoring young people
  • Active membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church preferred or supportive of the school’s mission
