Position Summary

Hollister Christian School is seeking a dynamic, faith-driven Upper Grade Teacher to serve students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, Christ-centered instruction while fostering academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth.

For the right candidate, this position may also include principal responsibilities, offering an opportunity to provide leadership in school operations, culture, and vision.

Primary Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction for grades 6–8
  • Teach all subject areas
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to promote critical thinking and student engagement
  • Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records

Classroom Environment

  • Establish a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment
  • Promote student responsibility, collaboration, and a growth mindset
  • Support the social-emotional development of middle school students

Spiritual Leadership

  • Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into daily instruction
  • Lead students in prayer, worship, and spiritual discussions
  • Model Christ-like character and foster a culture of service and faith

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and guardians
  • Collaborate with staff, school leadership, and the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Office of Education
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field 
  • Valid teaching NAD credential (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Commitment to Seventh-day Adventist Education and the mission of the school
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to teach multiple subject areas at the middle school level
  • Experience teaching middle school grades (preferred)
  • Leadership experience or interest in school administration
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small school environment
  • Active participant in local church community
  • Ability to work in the USA

The wage range is  $67,179-$83,834  (there would some additional pay if there were principal duties added)
