Position Overview

Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy is seeking two dynamic, mission-driven high school teachers to join our growing program. As we expand to include 12th grade this coming school year, we are looking for educators who are passionate about Adventist education and excited to help build and strengthen a developing high school.

These positions will collaboratively cover a combination of the following subject areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • History / Social Studies
  • Physical Education

The exact teaching assignments will be determined based on the strengths and qualifications of the selected candidates.

Primary Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in assigned subject areas
  • Develop lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and student engagement
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records

Spiritual Leadership

  • Integrate faith and learning in all subject areas
  • Lead students in prayer, worship, and spiritual discussions
  • Model Christ-like character and support the spiritual development of students

Program Development

  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the high school program
  • Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and student opportunities
  • Support extracurricular activities, athletics, and student life as needed

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff
  • Work collaboratively with school leadership and the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Office of Education
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Be an active member in the local church
Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid NAD teaching credential (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Ability to teach one or more of the listed subject areas
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Seventh-day Adventist education
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Experience teaching high school students (Preferred)
  • Ability to teach multiple subject areas
  • Experience in small school or growing program environments
  • Willingness to be flexible and collaborative in a developing high school setting

The wage range is  $61,923- $78,579
