The PE Teacher at Southwest Christian Academy is responsible for fostering physical wellness and Christian character in students across all grade levels. This role integrates physical fitness with the school’s broader mission of academic rigor and community engagement. The PE Teacher will lead a program that emphasizes health, teamwork, and sportsmanship, contributing to a wholistic education that includes STEM integration, nutritional awareness, and active participation in the Dallas community.

Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery: Plan and lead age-appropriate physical education for all grades, focusing on motor skills, fitness, and competitive sportsmanship.
• Spiritual & Values Integration: Mentor students in Christian values through athletics, emphasizing integrity and respect in both victory and defeat.
• Wholistic Wellness: Support the school’s nutrition program by teaching the importance of healthy eating habits and fueling the body for performance.
• STEM & Arts Integration: Collaborate with other departments to incorporate STEM concepts (i.e., physics of motion, biology).
• Community & Field Trips: Help supervise on off-campus field trips and athletic events that allow students to engage with and serve the Dallas community.
• Safety & Management: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized environment; manage all athletic equipment and facilities at the campus.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (K-12 PE) or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience teaching in a diverse, multi-grade setting is preferred.
• Faith Alignment: A committed Christian who supports the values and mission of Southwest Christian Academy.
